U-14s travel to National Feile Finals in Mayo

This weekend will see the U14 side in action in the National Feile competition. The event takes place in Mayo (Ballyhaunis) and a presentation of Jerseys and other gear will have taken place by the time these notes are printed but further details will be carried next week. The team will play Dunmore on Friday at 5.40pm and this game will be followed at 7pm with a game against Ederney St Josephs. Both games take place at the Connacht Centre. Bal qualify for U21 final

Bal are through to the county U-21 football final after defeating Macroom yesterday in Brinny. A fantastic third quarter saw the reds lead the favourites 1-12 to 0-06. However a resurgent Macroom clocked up six points without reply in the final quarter but thankfully they never registered the necessary goal which would have tied the scores thanks to a resolute defensive display and a series of brilliant saves by custodian Ger Kirby who kept a clean sheet. Junior Hurlers play Bandon in Championship

The junior hurlers play Bandon this coming Sunday in Kilbrittain. This is the only preliminary round of the championship with both sides hoping to avoid the clash against Oliver Plunketts should they lose the game. Please support the team on the night.

U14 capture Feile B title in dramatic fashion at Pairc Ui Rinn

It was drama all the way as the U14 Football team defeated Ahinagh in the final at Pairc Ui Rinn today. With only seconds remaining on the clock and two points down Ciaran Nyhan was fouled when bearing down on goal and was awarded a free. Despite a crowded goal he managed to find the top of the net with a blistering shot from the resultant free. Congratulations to all the panel and team mentors on a fantastic day for the club --- More details later
