U-14s travel to National Feile Finals in Mayo

This weekend will see the U14 side in action in the National Feile competition. The event takes place in Mayo (Ballyhaunis) and a presentation of Jerseys and other gear will have taken place by the time these notes are printed but further details will be carried next week. The team will play Dunmore on Friday at 5.40pm and this game will be followed at 7pm with a game against Ederney St Josephs. Both games take place at the Connacht Centre. Bal qualify for U21 final

Bal are through to the county U-21 football final after defeating Macroom yesterday in Brinny. A fantastic third quarter saw the reds lead the favourites 1-12 to 0-06. However a resurgent Macroom clocked up six points without reply in the final quarter but thankfully they never registered the necessary goal which would have tied the scores thanks to a resolute defensive display and a series of brilliant saves by custodian Ger Kirby who kept a clean sheet.
