Car Treasure Hunt

A presentation was made to the winner of this year's Festival Car Treasure Hunt, Deirdre O'Flynn, last Sunday night.  The John O'Sullivan Memorial Cup was presented to Deirdre by Kevin O'Sullilvan, in the company of his mother Anne and sister Claire in memory of his late Dad, John O'Sullivan R.I.P. who sadly passed away recently.  John was a dedicated member of so many Ballinascarthy organisations, particularly the Festival committee and is greatly missed.  He will always be remembered for his contribution to the locality.

Dog Show

Such a large number of dogs entered the 10 classes in this year's dog show, held last Saturday night.  It turned out to be a very successful event and thankfully the weather was kind to us this year.  A special word of thanks to the judge Valda Wolfe and assistant Rachel McGuire.  The overall winner of "The Best Dog of the Show" was Richard Scegauskas's "Kylie" and the reserve champion was "Cuddles" ownded by Karen O'Callaghan.  The results of the other classes were as follows:- 

Class (1)  Smooth Haired Terrier:- 1st Kieran Brennan's "Bella", 2nd & 3rd Ashling White's "Minnie" and "Maisie"

Class (2)  Rough Haired Terrier:-   1st Aine Crowley's "Mac",  2nd Larry O'Sullivan's "Jock", 3rd Edel McCarthy "Ruffles"

Class (3)  Any Variety Small Dog:- 1st Karen O'Callaghan's "Cuddles", 2nd Jacinta Cullinane's "Callie", 3rd John Keohane's "Barney"

Class (4)  Any Variety Med Dog:-   1st Eleanor Walsh's "Brandy", 2nd Grace McWeeney "Otto", 3rd Amy McWeeney "Odie"

Class (5)  Any Variety Large Dog:- 1st Richard Scegauskas' "Kylie", 2nd Merilyn Dennehy's "Dolf", 3rd Jennifer Kingston's "Simba"

Class (6)  Gun Dog:-                       1st Lian Lyons' "Digger", 2nd Mary Crease's "Bronwen", 3rd Ellie O'Donovan's "Blaze"

Class (7)  Puppy less than 1yr:-      1st Eleanor Walsh's "Monty", 2nd Denis Murphy's "Camren", 3rd Savannah Williams' "Cohen"

Class (8)  Dog to take home:-         1st Patricia Daly's "Mischa", 2nd John Keohane's "Millie", 3rd Angela Mulligan's "Lexi"

Class (9)  Child Handling:-              1st Nathan Lyons with "Digger", 2nd Grace McWeeney with "Otto", 3rd Kieran Brennan with "Ruby"
