The Late Hugh HollandIt was with great sadness that the community of Ballinascarthy learnt of Hugh Holland’s passing on Tuesday last (21st July). Hugh was a member of a family with a long standing association with the village and the Bal GAA club. He had fought his illness for a relatively short time and news of his passing evoked great sympathy in the locality. The Junior A footballers got the championship campaign off to a winning start, defeating Barryroe on a scoreline of 0-17 to 2-06. The Junior A hurlers are up next in championship against Dunmanway this Sunday at 4 pm in Balineen. Tickets limited to 50 per club, please check locally for availability and tickets will be given out at 9.30 pm this Thursday night at the hall.
