Passing of Denis (DD) Walsh -Vice President and Founding Member

The death occurred recently of Denis Walsh (affectionately known as DD) of Ballincollig and late of Ballinascarthy Post Office who was also Vice President of the club. Denis was a founder member of the Ballinascarthy GAA Club back in 1945 and the club’s first secretary. He continued to take a keen interest in club affairs many years after he left the area and was a proud Ballinascarthy man. A more detailed account of DD’s contribution will feature at a later stage. Good weekend for the club - Owen Gaels winning the U15 A County Hurling final after defeating St Catherines' 1-17 to 1-09 while the junior football side were narrow one point winners over St James yesterday afternoon.
